Love your sweatshirt

I have committed to doing 250 workouts in 2025. It is day 4 and I’ve done 4.
I’m doing another Body for Life - which unfortunately has never stuck for life - but I’m optimistic this time it will. I already work out and I don’t drink, so I’m hoping eating properly is not too much of a stretch and I can shove in a few more workouts here and there.
For those of you uninitiated I am a “kind of” member of a cult. The leader is Bill Phillips. I’ve followed him since the early 2000s when I did my first Body for Life Challenge - and won! For a period of time there was a bikini shot of me on the internet but thankfully it disappeared when his last share of EAS was purchased for squillions in the mid 2000s.
I think everyone needs to watch this video. This video is how it all started.
We all have our best body. I don’t have mine at the moment but I will after 250 workouts and lots of vegetables, rice, grilled chicken breasts and salmon. I am grateful I was in excellent shape when I got sick. I intend to be in excellent shape again in 12 weeks time and even better shape in 52 weeks time.
It feels amazing to be at a stage where I can plan to rebuild after all the disruption associated with treatment, fatigue, surgery and recovery.
My cult leader knows what it feels like to have to rebuild. He nearly died of covid and was in a coma for three weeks and in hospital for 2 months. He is very lucky to be alive.
So I’ve joined the BFL25 Facebook Group, posted twice and had Bill Phillips comment on both my posts (such excitement for this middle aged woman). Once I’ve recovered from my fan girling, I start my proper training regime on 6 January - but in the meantime I am getting the workouts in and journaling my food. [I am going to be such fun to hang out with!]
I love exercising, especially weight lifting. I also like a good spin class and walking in hills. I like feeling strong and fit. I am excited to get back into it.
I think I mentioned I used to be an aerobics instructor. At our training course one of the participants went up to one of the trainers, fingered his top, stared into his eyes and said “Love your sweatshirt”. It was so fabulously brazen. A group of my friends and I have used “Love your sweatshirt” as a greeting for about 34 years.
2025 is our year to be brazen.
My 2025 has 250 workouts in it. What’s yours got?
“Love your sweatshirt!”
